TranslateSo am I correct, that in order to host a league that races just on weekends, I need 10 boosts? And now that they have disappeared from the donuts, that means I need 10 accounts to all subscribe monthly, so they can each donate their one boost so that the league can exist. Did AI tell you that was a good idea?

You can buy boost packs. They can be bought on the league page on PC (through clicking the boost progress bar->Donate boosts, or via the edit page which as host I have). I assume it is the same for the apps. In the UK it is £9.99 for 20 Boosts, which go into your inventory. Then you can donate the required amount for your league. To race on weekends it would be 10 boosts per season (20 in the introductory phase of a newly created league, before they've earnt their 50% discount).
You don't need to be a VIP subscriber to do that (unless you are ranked lower than level 20, I believe, merely in order to host a league in the first place. So you would be okay at your level), but one of the intended perks of that subscription is a free monthly boost that can be donated to your league, to help it along.
So, from my perspective as host. It is cheaper to buy the largest value boost pack (£9.99 for 20 boosts) and then use as many as is required from my inventory. Boosts donated by league members, from VIP, Donuts or otherwise, just helps me (as host).
TLDR: there is a cheaper way than requiring 10 VIP members - through Boost packs. (available in league page, not the shop)
That is my understanding, hope that helps.

You’re right that weekend-only leagues still require 10 boosts, and with boosts no longer purchasable via donuts it effectively pushes leagues toward relying on multiple subscribed accounts, which many players understandably feel is a poorly thought-out change.
