Classic mode has just received a series of fixes and improvements to bring it closer to the 2019 feel of iGP Manager. Most importantly, cars will not race wheel-to-wheel as they were doing in the past 48 hours.

Hello, I don't know what IGP was like in 2019. Apart from the elimination of W2W visual effect, what other changes have been made to the current game engine? Are the dirty air effect and tyre management the same as today?
I get the impression that the dirty air effect is not present in W2W, is that correct?
Thanks

Dirty air, slipsteam and even boost were returned to the specific settings they had around March 2019. That's why the boost has a little "jolt" and isn't so smooth as the current game (which has smoothing).

The impact of dirty air is mostly negligible in the current w2w simulation but it is still present. In early testing I was told repeatedly that it was too hard to overtake in W2W compared to pre-w2w (they got used to driving through each other) so I leaned into making overtaking on the easy side to make racing better, so you don't get stuck behind other cars as much.

When did you apply this change? A few days ago I was racing in Australia and it was a mess, saying the least. Especially with new tires, I noticed that my drivers got stuck behind each other when passing with drs, even though the track was empty (it was just my 2 drivers on the straight).

I think we're describing separate issues, that's about lane changing logic, which could be improved in some cases. I've seen a few DRS overtakes blocked too. I take it from your post that it's still viewed as a common issue?

Yes, also others in my league have experienced this. It happens of other circuits too

Upgrading HQ is vital to DRS and Boost strength. You probably haven't cought up your Technology after the level 40 update caused your team making a level jump due to the collected XP being freed, while the one of the level 27 is on par with team level and got full 5 stars.

So tell me if I understood correctly? The Level on iGP is practically useless? There's the free market and you can get a driver at 100% even at level 1. In fact, paradoxically, leveling up penalizes you as the star value decreases. Right?

Not useless, but the system shifted from pace towards unlocking new parts of the game, with opportunities and challenges, and slowly altering the team, from mostly depending on others (chassis and engines customer, research) towards mostly self defining (manufacturing, HQ DP).
The old system couldn't go on, it got just way too long to become competitive, and changing it back to a sensible amount of time would've made levels pointless, as it'd be storming through them just for the level system and anything connected to it ending up to be of no more use and ignored forever after.

And I agree. Do you want to encourage new players to play and be competitive right away with higher-level managers? That's fine! I agree. The best one wins, not the one with the highest level.
But then why are the waiting times for facility upgrades shorter at lower levels (3-5 days), while at higher levels the wait is 1 week?
This way, lower-level players are more competitive because they have all 5-star headquarters (in addition to having more power research), while higher-level players have almost all 3.5-4-star headquarters.
Wouldn't it be better to have fixed times for everyone like 3 years ago?

The time frame between level ups is also longer for higher levels, that's supposed to equal things out. However the accumulated XP for those having reached the pre-update cap of 30 already quite a while ago caused many teams to jump several levels and put them in this unfavourable spot of being severely behind with being several levels down on all buildings at once, hence the offer after the update from Jack to reset the level back to 30 for those teams.

If the level progress system, or connected things like HQ build times, are in need to be rebalanced is even more open to debate than usual.

Even more so for research, as especially teams close to and just at level 30 are somewhat at the bottom in terms of car competitiveness, as they're approching, or just reached, the lowest research, while not (yet) got chassis manufacturing going to unlock the research bonus there, then also only approaching 75% of HQ DPs, the engine is probably not completely developed and those just below are still bound by forced engine weakness. Engine customers might have max bonus, but remain weakness locked and in need to start from scratch if they want to change that soon.
